Resident Commissioner's office works as a small embassy of Government of Chhattisgarh at New Delhi. This office was established in 2000. It is an important link between State Government and Central Government. The responsibility of the office includes:-
- To make Protocol arrangements for visiting VIPs in Delhi.
- To maintain coordination between State and Central Government.
- To follow up the pending issues/proposals of the State Government with various Ministries of Central Government.
- To follow up the proposals to obtain the President's approval (wherever required) on bills and ordinances ofthe State.
- To follow up for release of grant and financial assistance for various schemes under different programmes for the State Government.
- To provide information to Central Government from various Departments of State.
- To get clearance and to fulfill other formalities for the foreign tour of VIPs and other senior officials.
- To provide all possible assistance in the form of organizing meetings, fixing appointments and providing relevant information and documents for the meetings to H.E. the Governor, Hon'ble Chief Minister and Ministers during their visit to Delhi.
- To represent the State Government in different meetings and conferences.
- To provide information related to the issues concerning Chhattisgarh to Hon'ble MPs and MLAs.
- To procure copies of notifications and resolutions from various Ministries of Central Government and provide them to the State Government.
